Token Xmas Gift

This necklace took me about 30 minutes to make.
It is an inexpensive pretty little gift for a young girl.
I used plastic beads for this one, how ever if you wanted to make one for an adult you could purchase some better beads to use.
The tutorial link is below.

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=QZMh1YqX8GE

Here are some golf club covers I made for my son-in-law for Xmas.
He is a mad Richmond (tigers) football club supporter (AFL).
These are the team colors.

I crocheted them side ways in the BLO st and every 5th row I only crocheted 3/4 of the way across, to give them a sleeve type effect. I graphed out the numbers and crocheted the number in different pieces then sewed the number together. I linked them together with a round curtain hook that I crocheted around and used a double yarn chain which I joined to the pom, poms.

This is a Xmas gift for my brother-in-law.
I like fun things that have a purpose, so I came up with this little idea.
I hole punched some UNO cards and did a couple of rounds of htrbl.
Then I made the beanie and sewed the crocheted cards to the outsides of the beanie (4). I also hand sewed his name along the top of the beanie and added a tassel like the ones you have on the graduation caps. The purpose of that is to move it from side to side as he wins and loses.
I also made him a simple little carry bag for his deck of UNO cards, which was finished off with decorative ends to the chained tie.

I'm hoping for a giggle from him.
I got the inspiration from the link below, which has a crocheted UNO dress.

Size 2 Hat Pictures

Size 6 Hat Pictures

Materials: 8 ply yarn. (light worsted/ sport) with a camouflage effect.
US terms used
Size: 4.00mm Hook. (US.G/6) (UK 8)
Instructions given for sizes 2 to 10
Pattern tested for size 2 and 6 only
hdc= yarn over hook, insert hook into st, pick up yarn pull through st, (3 loops on hook) pull yarn through all 3 loops.
trbl= yarn over hook, insert hook into st, pick up yarn pull through st, (3 loops on hook) pull yarn through 2 loops, (2 loops on hook) pull yarn through 2 loops again.
I had a 100gm ball of the camouflage effects yarn. I made the size 2 hat first, I used a little bit of the yarn on the toy soldier boy and the rest on the size 6 hat. I knew I was going to run short of this yarn with the size 6 hat, so I used a co-ordinating colour that doubles for a built in hat band.
*Stay tuned for the soldier boy pattern*

CROCHETED ARMY FLOPPY HAT

Crocheted Army Floppy Hat

I also made an army boy amigurumi

This is Cooper.

I am currently working on this pattern for a childs army floppy hat.

I initially made the hat above for my grandson Darcy who is 5, but it fits my grandson Cooper who is 2.

This proves the need to measure your subject or use a sizing chart instead of guessing.

You learn something new all the time.
I will be posting the pattern soon.

This is Darcy.

Coopers Vest

I found a pattern for a simple childs vest, added some multi color yarn along with the plain yarn, then I chose to make a motiff of a bear, which looked more like a cat, so now we have a cat motiff that is a little cross eyed and wears a red bow.

Below is Cooper, who will be 2 in a couple of months.

He just happens to be spoilt by me, but so do all of the other grand kids.

I've taught him to cook and wash dishes.

Crochet Halter Top, Skirt and Head Band.

I really liked the halter and skirt set that I had made previously, so I made another two sets in different colors.

I didn't alter the pattern for the top at all, but I played around with different stitches while I was making the skirts. I got some help for sizes from the lovely ladies in the knitting and crochet forum.

When it came to making the skirt I did a length of chain and stretched it out firmly when I was measuring , using the size 2+ waist measurement I needed, I finished the chain at the recommended length. I joined the chain into a ring and completed 3 rows of trbl (dc). This formed the waist band.

I then proceeded with a pattern, I started with a simple 2 trbl in next trbl, ch 1, miss 1 trbl, 2 trbl in next trbl.

When it came to giving the skirt a bit more flare, I simply increased the stitches by doing, 3 trbl instead of 2 trbl.

If the skirt if needed more flare, I would increase again.

I threw in a few more fancy stitches for variety.

I am not sure if the length is the correct length, but that is one of the beauties of crocheting, you can just pick from where you finished off and make it larger.

With the head band, I used the same measuring technique as the skirt and the same stitches as the waist band.

I chose a suitable flower pattern to fit the headband, made them up and sewed them on.

And as you see from the pictures, this is truly a cute little out fit.

It will be back to making more sets of these now as Bella has an older sister, who just loves to dress up smartly, her name is Lily and she is 6.

Here is Lily's top, complete with beads and all.

I have never worked with beads before, it is alot of fun.

Baby Doll Bathing Suit Free Pattern

Crochet a bathing suit for your doll
Let your imagination run wild by decorating these easy to crochet bathing suits.

I wanted a pattern for a swim suit that would be easy for a young child, to put on and take off a doll.
So I made up a pattern that is very quick and easy to make. I also made a bathing suit out of sparkling yarn, but it looked more like bed room wear. I may make a little dressing gown and slippers to go with that too.
New Entry.

Here is the gold sparkling bed room wear.

Making up Bathing Suit

Sew in loose ends, sew up sides, being careful not to go too far down the leg as the suit will be too hard to put on.

You can fancy up the bathing suit using a shell stitch around the neck or leg area.

I did some little bright buttons to put down the front using this method.

Crochet halter top and skirt for child

A crochet halter top and skirt

The crocheted halter top took me about 2 hours to make, then I nutted out a pattern for a matching skirt, which took a bit longer (if you want the pattern for the skirt let me know). Clicking on the name of this topic will take you to the blog where I found it, then that blog will take you to the original pattern designer. I used 8ply acrylic wool and a size 4.00m hook, the size I made will hopefully fit my grandaughter Bella who is turning 3.

This is Bella. Isn't she just georgous!

Neck Pillow to Wheat Bag. Great for aching neck and shoulders. Crochet Pattern.

Crocheted Neck Pillow.
Easy pattern.

I found this neck pillow pattern and altered it into a wheat bag for the neck. I used thick stockings to contain the wheat in, tied the end of the stocking into a knot and simply slip stitched the pillow closed. It's just a perfect fit and light weight too. I just heat it up in the microwave for a couple of minutes. Great for head aches or aching shoulders.

I was looking for a childs golliwog slipper pattern on the net and had no luck finding one. So I made up my own pattern of knitted golli slippers. Sizing is for 1 to 4 year olds. I was very happy with the end results and I made them in several colors.
