Beanie Babe Hat. Free Crochet Pattern.
An easy 19 row
baby beanie hat pattern with a little bit of decoration.
This is my grandson wearing this hat, born7/03/14, 6.9 lb
As you can see there is a little bit of room for growth, you can adjust this pattern for shorter or longer lengths

To fit: newborn,
Measurements approx: Head
Circumference 13 inches, hat height 5 inches
Please note, by using a smaller or larger
hook, you can make a smaller or larger beanie
Hook size: 4.00mm US G/6
Yarn: 8 ply approx 50 gm’s US DK/Medium

Sl st= slip stitch
Ch= chain
Hdc= half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
Fpdc= front post double
crochet
Special stitches used:
2 dc cluster st= yo hook, insert hook into st, pull up a loop, yo over hook draw
through 2 loops only (2 loops left on hook), yo hook, insert hook into same st,
pull up a loop, yo over hook draw through 2 loops only (3 loops left on hook),
yo hook pull through all 3 loops on hook.
3 dc cluster st = yo hook, insert hook into st, pull up a loop, yo over hook draw
through 2 loops only (2 loops left on hook), yo hook, insert hook into same st,
pull up a loop, yo over hook draw through 2 loops only (3 loops left on hook)
yo hook, insert hook into same st, pull up a loop, yo over hook draw through 2
loops only (4 loops left on hook), yo hook pull through all 4 loops on hook.
The little cluster st is worked over 2 st’s, make a little cluster in the 1st
st, ch 1, skip the next st.
IE cluster round: ch 3, work 2 dc cluster in same space as ch 3, ch 1, skip the
next st, *work a 3 dc cluster in the next st, ch 1, skip the next st, repeat
from *to* to end, sl st to join in the top of the beginning 2 dc cluster
The beanie begins at the top of
the head and worked down to the ribbed edging

Chain 4, sl st to first ch to form a
ring. Or use a magic ring.
Row 1 ch 1, work 12 hdc into ring, sl st to join in the 1st hdc (you will join this way on every round)

sl st to join (24 hdc)

into first dc, work 1 fpdc around the next dc, *work 1 dc into the next dc,
work 1 fpdc around the next dc* repeat from *to* to end, sl
st to join, the join will be in the top of the 1st dc of this round
(48 dc)
Final row of hat, once again you make
this longer.
Row
19 work 1 hdc into
each dc to the end, (48 hdc), sl st to join and finish off leaving a long
enough tail to sew in and hide your ends.
