Introduction:
This free crochet pattern looks intimidating, but don’t be dismayed, it’s just a trick with
the yarn. Imagine 3 dc’s standing in a row, and then wrapping them 3 times
around with hook and yarn, done! This wrapping technique then turns sideways
all by its self, now why didn’t I think of that? Each wrap is separated with a
simple V stitch, which gives a very uniformed and attractive design.
The entire pattern is achieved
over only 2 rows, making it repetitive and easy to follow.

larger hook, you can make a smaller or larger beanie

Special
stitch: We’ll call this
wrap st in the pattern. Once you have your 3 dc’s in a row, you will then need
to do your wrap this way.
Coming from the front of your work, yo hook, place
hook into the space before your 1st dc, go around the back of all 3
dc’s, pull up a loop and come back out of the same place you went into, (3
loops on hook), repeat this 2 more times, (2nd time 5 loops on hook,
3rd time, 7 loops on hook)
yo over 1 more time and pull through
all loops on hook, done!
V stitch: The V stitch is (1 dc, ch 1,
1 dc), on the first row of the pattern this is worked into a 1 dc, on every
other row of the pattern, the V stitch is worked into the ch 1 space of the V
stitch, the dc’s on either sides of the V stitch will not be worked into,
unless stated otherwise

My testers have said that they made their hat larger just by using larger hooks.

Robyns Bow Pattern
Start of by making a Slip Knot, then crochet 40 Chains.
Row 1~ Chain 2, skip 2 chains from your hook, then crochet Half Double Crochets all across into every chain.
Row 2 ~ Chain 2, half double crochet into every stitch across.
Row 3 ~ Change color. Chain 2, half double crochet into every stitch across.
Row 4-5 ~ Chain 2, half double crochet into every stitch across.
When you've completed all the rows, connect the two ends of the bow band together to create a circle and Slip Stitch them together.
Once you've slip stitched the ends together, flip the slip stitched part to the inside and fasten your yarn off. You don't want to trim your yarn less than 55"/140cm because you need a long enough tail to wrap around your bow.
Start of by slowly yet tightly wrapping the yarn around the center of the bow. You need to wrap it around the bow at least 15 times. When you've finished wrapping, knot it to the back of the bow.
You can use any combination of colors. This bow is for a 9 month old hat.
