Relief Packages Are A Go!

This is just the beginning of the personal care packages for the bush fire victims. By next week it will be so much larger and we can begin giving them out.

On a lighter note, have you ever seen or eaten dragon fruit? It's the red thing below.

And this is what it looks like opened up. It tastes a little like kiwi fruit but not as strong in the taste. I just spooned it straight out of it's case and ate it that way. Yum, yum and filling too! Very low in calories and contains vitamin C.

Wish I was closer to help you with your basket goodies. :( Love your face cloth pattern! I have not seen a dragon fruit here in the States. Weird looking, but the colors are so pretty! Does it have seeds? What are the other small purple things above it? (Give Rev a hug for me!) Beth in Virginia

I have never seen dragon fruit either. When my son was small, we began to get 'strange' fruits in the produce department of grocery stores. For Show and Tell in the second grade (about 7 years old), I would send some of the fruit with him to school. Before I left, I would tell the teacher that he had a knife in his backpack. During SnT he would pull the fruit, cutting board, and knife out of his backpack. Explain the fruit repeating what I'd told him. Then share with his classmates.

Sure wish I could have located some of these!

Good Afternoon!

Great Care Packages and the crochet face cloths really personalize them...these will really touch hearts.

As for the Dragon Fly Fruit; first time I have ever laid eyes on such a fruit I have to show this to Tom. Going to google....and learn more about this fruit.

I don't believe you can get this in the States but we travel and it can go on my list of things to try.

Crochet Princess Beth, the little black dots are very tiny seeds that you eat with out any trouble, the other purple things are plain old passionfruit. Thanks for the comment on the face cloth pattern too.

Sherry, it was the first time I had seen them too and I just had to buy one and see, I love your idea with your sons fruit package.

Gloria, yes I am hoping that the personal touch will be a healing tool, and as for the fruit, I googled it after I ate it, LOL.

where can your Spring 2008 hat patterns be purchased?

Rachel G, I think you would love passion fruit if you like kiwi fruit.

Melliemo, my Spring Hats were designed as I made them, no patterns. I do how ever plan to write more hat patterns over the next 6 months or so and may re visit these to write the pattern for them. It's just when time allows.
