Tension not required, but if you find your appliqué, too big or too small, change your hook size to suit the size you want
3 rows for the head, 2 rows for the nose.
Pattern begins in the center of the head for 2 rows, then the ears are made in the 3rd row of the head part. The nose is made separately, then sewed on after completion.
Head and color 1: ch 2
Row 1 work 8 sc in first ch made, sl st into first sc to join, ch 1 (8 sc)
Row 2 work 2 sc in each sc around, sl st into first sc to join, ch 1 (16 sc)
Row 3 work 1 sc in the next 3 sc, sl st into next sc, work 6 dc in next sc, sl st into next sc, work 1 sc in next 7 sc, work 1 sl st into next sc, work 6 dc in next sc, sl st into next sc, sl st into first sc to join, finish off leaving a tail for sewing on appliqué
Nose and color 2: ch 2
Row 1 work 4 sc in first ch made, sl st into first sc to join, ch 1 (4 sc)
Row 2 work 2 sc in each sc around, sl st into first sc to join, finish off leaving a tail to sew nose onto face (8sc)
Putting it together:
Sew in loose ends
Sew nose onto lower part of head, then using crochet thread or double stranded cotton, sew a Y shape onto the nose, and then place buttons securely and evenly on the sides of the nose in the 10 o’clock and 2 o’clock position.

Caution small parts could choke baby if they come off, you may want to sew in eyes with yarn, or glue on felted eyes.
